From Burnt Out to Fired Up!

“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”
~ Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

At a very deep level within YOU – you know what it means to truly Claim Your Worth!®. You know that at the end of your life – and at the end of your days – each day – what truly matters is who you allowed yourself to become as a person – and your ability to give and receive love freely and authentically.

Yes, of course, we all know this to be true at a superficial level because this is so much of what is said “out there”. Yet, you can hear the words, but to be able to understand what they mean, you need to experience them for yourself – and experience what it really means to Claim Your Worth!® from the inside/out.

In other words, it’s a totally different story to realize that the beauty, fullness, radiance, security, confidence, courage, and acceptance you seek – is already within YOU. If you aren’t feeling “It”, then you’ve just lost touch with “It” and need to become reacquainted in order to become re-united.

For example, when I begin to work with a client, the outer symbol of their discontent is almost always a feeling of “burn-out”. Most likely the burn-out shows up in their outer world of feeling unappreciated, exhausted, and angry and resentful. Most likely they’ve been – going, going, going – and working way too hard. They are focused solely on outer accomplishment – yet through all their hard work – nothing seems to be shifting – and they feel worse, rather than better.

In a nutshell – they are giving to everyone else – their families, children, businesses, bosses, household chores, community, etc. – and their own Inner Selves – don’t receive any attention. They come to me craving “something” but they don’t know exactly what that “something” is. The way burn-out shows up is a bit different for everybody and has similar threads of commonality.

I remember my own first sign of “burn-out” came when I hit a “wall of success” and realized I was exhausted because I was living a life – and working in a job – that didn’t have a deep meaning with who I really was. On the outside I was doing exactly what I was taught you needed to do in order to be “right” and to be “responsible”, yet, I was miserable because my insides weren’t matching up with my outside.

Can you relate? Where you know there is “MORE” – but what that that “MORE” is continues to elude you? You know you crave deeper something – but what that “Something” is – you can’t put your finger on. And the harder you work to change the outer world, and to get what you’re looking for – “out there”, the more separated you feel?

To give you a hint, what you’re craving and longing for is – an inner connection with your True Self. A connection where you feel grounded, secure, and safe – and where your inner wisdom guides you to take confident and courageous action towards where your heart is pulling you to go – vs. – where your head thinks you *should* go based on past programming and what others think you *should* do.

Yet, continuously, each day, the “to-do” lists win-out – because what we were all taught – and what gets reinforced by society is: outer accomplishments and outer symbols are what matter – and in order to feel full, fulfilled and whole – you need more of them! After all, you gotta keep up with the Jones!

But, if what you really long for is to discover Who You Really Are – and to know who you really are – and to experience who you really are – and to live the life that you’re meant to live – it truly begins with cultivating your inner world first, then the outer symbols and the outer life rise-up to meet the Real You.

Check-out the Worth Work below where I give you some food for thought to chew on this week!

WORTHY WORK

ariety of ways – whether you’re tired or exhausted, or you feel angry and resentful, or discontented with your life or your career – or just that something is missing but you don’t know what that “something” is.

Now, take some inventory of how you’ve learned to get your inner cravings met from the outside. Do you go to do more work because you believe that more doing will feed the hunger? Or do you yearn to connect with outer accomplishment through buying more stuff to show you that you’re worthy?

What about if you’re yearning to feel more fulfilled and connected? Do you go to food to feed what feels to be missing? Is there an inner hunger for more pleasure and sweetness in your life – but no matter how many cookies you eat – it’s the inner void is still there?

This week have a radical date with self-honesty – and then honor and acknowledge (no judgment okay?) what you do on the outside to try to fill the inner longing. Then, make a commitment to yourSELF to have a small shift – and commit to doing one thing this week that will honor your inner world.

I’m a big fan of symbols – maybe you are too. If so, what’s one small symbol you can put-up somewhere – or in your purse – or in your desk – that will show you’re making a commitment to honor your soul. Is it a pretty, feminine journal, a piece of inspirational art, a precious gemstone, some incense to spark your senses, or perhaps a religious, spiritual symbol?

Whatever it is for you – go to it! Enjoy your week!

Love,

Brenda
