Denis Waitley’s quote above is so powerful and so on point.
Being on the self-discovery journey, you’ve no doubt read extensively about manifesting, making things happen, charting your own course.
But what happens when, despite your best efforts of visioning and have a heart-felt desire for something to manifest, – you find yourself stuck and yearning for something that continues to elude you?
This is the part of the manifestation journey where your sense of self (a.k.a. self-worth) plays a critical role.
Consider this – you are very familiar and close with the parts of you that have these desires for something different, something more expansive than what you’ve experienced to do.
Then, when these desires don’t manifest, you may beat yourself up and feel powerless and that you don’t have what it takes to manifest what you truly desire.
Note that, what you truly desire – KEY point.

Consider that you are very familiar with the parts of you that have the desire for MORE. Yet, what about the parts of you that don’t want you to experience MORE? What about the parts of you whose main motivation are keep you stuck, right where you are?
You may feel powerless when the things you truly desire don’t manifest. But rather than consider yourself powerless, consider yourself extremely powerful.
There are parts of you- unconscious parts – that you may not even be aware of – or familiar with – who are winning out on an inner power struggle.
These parts are not weak – they are in fact, very powerful – so powerful, that they work underneath the surface to keep you from experiencing what you truly desire because they are MORE committed to feeling safe and being in your “comfort zone”.
What do you do when you’re yearning for something you truly desire to manifest, but you know now that there are parts within holding you back?
First, your most fundamental step is to become very familiar with these parts. Get to know them on a personal level – give them a voice – ask them what they’re afraid of.
Second, call on your True Self to speak Truth to them and to all of you so you can move forward.
I know this may feel counter intuitive, and that the natural inclination is to want to push beyond these parts and move forward. But this will only keep you stuck.
Yet, give the parts that yearn to limit you a big hug and a compassionate ear – and then watch your life change and shift drastically.
